Abu Daooh Sisa, a woman in Egypt, now aged 64, spent 43 years of her life disguised as man! She did this to be able to earn money for her and her family. When the woman was 21 she was pregnant with her daughter and at the same time, lost her husband, which left her in a great impasse. She started dressing as a man to be able to work, as the local culture did not permit women at the workplace. “I preferred working in hard labor like lifting bricks and cement bags and cleaning shoes, to begging in the streets,” she said.
