Now, you may have immediately thought about a relationship between two people when you read the word friendship, but the truth is that the connection between an animal and his human can be extremely intense as well. The video tells the incredible story of an elephant named Nita and her trainer Charlie. Charlie was travelling the word with the circus and Nita was put in his charge as a baby. The two immediately hit it off and over the years, the two became best of friends. Charlie retired in the early 1970s after traveling throughout the world with his beloved performing elephant and donated her to the San Diego Wild Animal Park, a place he knew she will be well taken care of.
The two haven’t seen each other for 15 years until 1988 when the two were finally reunited. Even though it had been all those years during which the elephant hasn’t seen Charlie once, Nita still remembered him. The elephant’s reaction to seeing an old friend is tear-jerking.
