A team of surgeons at MY Hospital in India removed 80 teeth from the upper jaw of a boy aged 7. The doctors performed an unusual and complex surgery that lasted nearly four hours.
“The patient had visited us five days ago with abscess in upper jaw. Upon medical investigations, it was diagnosed a case of odontome. We planned the surgery and removed 80 teeth after clearing abscess, which is rare in tender age,” said the doctor who led the operation.
Doctors said that had the boy visited them four years later, at least 200-odd teeth could have developed.
