The St. Pauli district of Hamburg is one of Germany’s top nightlife spots. The neighborhood is a hotbed of cabarets. On the downside, this means late night revelry and release is a problem. But an inspired community organization found an effective solution for public urination: the walls that pee back! They are covering the buildings which are most often urinated on with pee-proof paint ensuring that any wild pee-ers get a splashy dose of their own medicine. The special paint is quite pricey costing over $540 to cover 65 square feet, but those who led the initiative say it has definitely been well worth it.
