A British woman hasn’t eaten anything for the past seven years due to a rare stomach condition. Nicola Nichols (25) suffered from a mild cold back in 2008. Soon after, she started vomiting up to 50 times a day and couldn’t drink or eat anything. Doctors diagnosed her with gastro paresis, a condition that causes paralysis of the stomach muscle. This means her stomach can’t dispose food properly. Nicola is kept alive with food bags and glucose injected into the bloodstream, and will never be able to eat normal food. “I still cook for my children and it smells great, but if I eat a piece, I have terrible pain,” said the young mom.
