Shabana Islam is 35 years old and hasn’t come out of her house in London for more than half her life. The woman is suffering from a skin disease which causes her terrible pain when it comes in contact with natural light. “It’s like constantly being on fire. My skin burns every day, but I simply can’t cry because tears would run down my cheeks causing me more and more pain”, says the woman.
For more than 20 years, Shabana has not left the house and has attempted suicide.
