One thing I’m not looking forward in the future is the invention of creepy-looking robots like the one in the video below. Introducing “DIEGO-SAN”: a robotic baby boy built with funding from the National Science Foundation and serves cognitive A.I. and human-robot interaction research. Diego San has high definition cameras in the eyes which enables it to ‘see’ people, gestures and even expressions. The prototype uses Artificial Intelligence modeled on human babies, to learn from people, in the same way that a baby hypothetically would. I understand this robot is considered to be a major breakthrough, but it still looks like it crawled out of hell.
