Claudio Vieira de Oliveira, man aged 37 years living in Brazil, was born with congenital arthrogryposis, a rare disorder of the joints that causes malformations of the limbs and head. When he was born, doctors advised his mother to let him die, but Claudio managed to defy all odds. Not only he survived, but became an inspirational speaker. Claudio said: “Throughout my life I was able to adapt my body to the world. Right now, I don’t see myself as being different. I am a normal person. I don’t see things upside-down. This is one of the things I always talk about in my interventions as a public speaker.”
