Olivia Gilles was born with a syndrome that caused accelerated growth of her tongue. The tongue became so big that the baby girl could no longer fit it in her small mouth. This condition left her unable to eat, talk or breathe properly. “The whole thing was a nightmare. Our biggest fear was that she could choke at any time. Her tongue was so big that she hardly could eat”, said her mother.
Fortunately, the baby underwent surgery that stopped her tongue from increasing in size. She is now two years old and lives a perfectly normal life.
