The newborn was dragged by its attached umbilical cord for 40 feet before a nurse noticed it. The mother was being moved in a wheelchair to another room when the baby came out and landed on the floor. The baby died due to severe head injuries.

Surveillance cameras captured the moment when a nurses notices the baby on the floor and bands down to get her. The hospital admitted the staff’s negligence, but offered to pay parents a compensation of only $800.
