The woman who came up with this idea is Jaimee Newberry, a creative mom who one day decided sew her daughter a dress that was based on her own drawing.
Needless to say, the dress was a huge success. Not only did her daughter love to see her drawing come to life in such a special way, but her friends also appreciated the idea.
Their parents then started asking where did she bought that unique dress, and then was when Jaimee started thinking about the possibility of making a business out of it.
Titled “Picture This”, the woman’s company lets children turn their drawings into clothes that they can actually wear. Currently, the company only makes dresses, but they are planning to offer more options in the short future.
All you have to do to get one of these dresses is to go to the Picture This website, choose a size, and print out a coloring sheet. Give it to your kid and let her imagination run wild. Once the drawing is done, you send a photo of the drawing to the website.
It takes about two weeks for the dress to be finalized and shipped to you, but the look on your daughter’s face when she sees her work of art in a wearable form will be all worth it. It’s such a simple yet genius idea, right?
