At first this church looks pretty normal, but if you look at it from a different angle it reveals its true beauty. Also called the ‘See-Through Church’, this building in Belgium is unique in the world. The designer Pietrjan Gijs said the structure combines art, function and political comment of the Catholic Church’s increased need for transparency. The secret lies in the fact that the church was constructed with 30 tons of steel ribs placed in such a way that it’s transparent on each side. The perfect optical illusion has attracted millions of tourists from all around the world.
