Baby Elephant Depressed When Abandoned by His Herd. Then Finds the Most Unlikely Friend

Life is better with friends – there is no doubt about that. Friends make the hard times seem easier to overcome and it’s great to know you have someone who is always looking out for you. Having good friends is essential for leading a happy, fulfilling life.
And, as it turns out, that is true for animals as it is for humans. Ellie the elephant has had a pretty rough start in life. Not only was she abandoned by her herd when she was only a baby but she also suffered from medical issue.
Her luck started to change when she was found by someone at the Thula Thula Rhino Orphanage in South Africa. There, she received the medical attention she needed and also got to meet a new friend that surprisingly changed her life forever.
Duma, a German Shepherd puppy who also lives in the animal sanctuary, is now Ellie’s best friend. The two hit it off from the get-go, and the dog helped Ellie get out of the bad mood she was in all the time.
Now, the two are basically inseparable and Ellie has shown clear signs of improvements. She has a renewed love of life for which she has Duma to thank for. Take a look at her friendship in action.
